Starflint – WIP Demo Download

In recent years, it feels like there are less and less point-and-click games being created. Most indie game makers are more focused on the game play aspect of a game rather than the narrative and story of the game. Stunmason Games have recently developed a 2D point-and-click adventure game called Starflint. The game takes place in the future, where space has finally been conquered and man is free to explore the dark void, but here a latent chaos and taken over. There are power struggles everywhere as the galaxy is in control of several big corporations.

Your main characters are Flint and Trixie, but you do play as each and every member of the crew at one point or another. They all have their own unique perspectives and personalities, so one person might solve an issue in a completely different way to another. This sorta mechanic is very important as every one of your choices effects something else on a much bigger scale. Each and every one of your choices will have consequences. Some good and some bad, and although they are not obvious at first, they will impact your adventure and business. Your choices will also affect how many side missions that you will encounter. Most of them come from interaction with the employees of your business and you can recruit almost everyone that you meet as long as you are able to convince them to join you.

Adventure is one of the big parts of the game. You can go out and discover new planets that will all have a unique  and new species of aliens. Some will be hospitable while other, much less so. Before you are able to communicate with each different race, you will need to learn how to speak their language. There are plenty of sources to do so and these help you understand the culture and history of each and every race that you come across.

There is a lot to do in this game, from building up your business to learning more and more about the cultures of other races to just finding collectibles that are hidden in the background of each and every environment. What you want to do and how you want to go about it is up to you. So, get out there and make name for yourself.

Download the WIP demo on the game’s Twitter page.

[From what we dug up, the game is in alpha, but this demo is in a pre-alpha state]

Played it? We’d love to know what you thought about it.
